addanou

During Oslo international donors conference, held in April 2005, donor countries pledged 4.5 billion US dollars to bolster peace and reconstruction in the war-plagued southern Sudan.
Very easy to make commitments before camera and press men but not easy to bring those commitments to the ground.
The Sudanese Minister of Finance, Al-Zubair Ahmed Al-Hassan, announced that a meeting would be held in Paris in next March to assess the fulfillment of the donors to their commitments declared at Oslo Donors’ Conference in April 2005.
The minister pointed out that the donors have extended 150 million dollars till the end of the year 2005, 100 million dollars out of which were given to south Sudan, while the other 50 million dollars were provided to the northern states
The Sudanese minister of foreign affaires lam akol said to alshaq alawsat arbic papers based in London that the donors link their commitment to improve the station in darfour .
That main no donation to peace in south until the end of crisis in darfour in the west are we in the way to anew food for peace policy by the international community
Two rebel movements in west, the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA) and the smaller Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), took up arms in early 2003 over what they see as marginalization by Khartoum.
